A Singaporean delegation led by Mr Hugh Lim, Executive Director of the Centre for Liveable Cities (Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment), and Professor Cheong Koon Hean, Chair of the Advisory Panel (Ministry of National Development), visited Baku White City during their visit to Baku for COP29.

During the tour of Baku White City, the guests expressed interest in the measures and initiatives planned and implemented to support sustainable and healthy urban development.

International experts recognised Baku White City as an example of successful adaptation of the urban environment to environmental challenges, demonstrating how carbon emissions can be effectively reduced in urban development while preserving cultural heritage and introducing innovative technologies. Praising the project, the guests emphasised the importance of learning from Azerbaijan’s experience in sustainable construction, highlighting how green technologies can be integrated into residential and commercial infrastructure. The guests were presented with a book published to mark the tenth anniversary of the Baku White City project.

The Baku White City project is being implemented within the framework of the “Comprehensive Action Plan for Improving the Environmental Situation in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2006–2010,” approved by an Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
