A cooperation agreement between Sea Breeze and Baku White City was signed during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), as the event provides the most suitable platform for the two major projects to join forces.
According to AZERTAC, Emin Agalarov, President of Agalarov Development, made the remarks to journalists at the Sea Breeze pavilion at WUF13.
“First of all, this is a very suitable platform for this, because the two largest projects are joining forces. It will be easier for us to develop both projects without competing with each other, as we have different concepts and are located approximately 20 kilometres apart,” Agalarov said.
According to the businessman, the idea of cooperation had long been discussed with Ruslan Sadikhov, head of Baku White City. Baku White City’s experience could be successfully integrated into Sea Breeze, while approaches developed at Sea Breeze could be implemented within Baku White City.
“We will continue to implement collaborative projects. This will accelerate the implementation of the entire master plan,” the President of Agalarov Development stressed.
He also highlighted the importance of cooperation in attracting foreign investment. He noted that both organisations had done extensive work to raise the profile of their projects and attract international investors.
“If an investor comes to Sea Breeze and implements a project there, we can also offer them other opportunities in a more urban setting at Baku White City. The same can be done in the opposite direction,” Agalarov noted.
Speaking about the next steps, he said that a new project was expected to be announced soon.
“We will announce the construction of a new complex to be developed directly by the Baku White City team on the territory of Sea Breeze, with our support. For our part, we are currently considering what kind of project we could develop and integrate into the Baku White City master plan,” the businessman added.
