Third-year students from the Faculty of Public and Municipal Administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited Baku White City.

The students were briefed on the project’s history, the transformation of the area from Black City into White City and the buildings constructed. They then took a walking tour of Baku White City to see the project first-hand.

During the tour, the students visited Baku White City Office Building 2020, which houses the COP29 headquarters, and viewed the nearby sculptures: the Karabakh Horse by Robert Summers, the Thinker by Joseph Klibansky, the Dragon by MAAS and “La Gran Manzana” by Enrique Cabrera. They also viewed the restored twin kerosene-processing structures and drinking water distribution kiosk in Oil Square, first commissioned in Baku in 1863. From there, they continued to Nizami Park and then to Fountain Square Park, where they learned about the progress of construction of the pedestrian bridge across 8 November Avenue.
