Baku White City Office Building – is the first landmark of one of the world's largest urban redevelopment projects, Baku White City. Office Building successfully passed certification by BREEAM international standard 2013.
Certification pushed a new stage in the development of the environmental construction and in involvement of global design and construction trends in Azerbaijan. Success of the building’s construction is determined not only by leading architects and designers, but also by environmental and social approach in the design.
Baku White City – is one of the largest urban projects carried out on refined former industrial lands. Heydar Aliyev, national leader of Azerbaijan, considered redevelopment of Black city one of the priority issues.
The groundbreaking ceremony of Baku White City was in December 24, 2011 and on December 24, 2014, the first business center Office Building was inaugurated. This is the first building in Azerbaijan certified by BREEAM international environmental standards.
The evaluation began in February 2014 and in December the building was certified. The process took 10 months. The assessment started during the construction phase, but the building could achieve more points if the assessment started earlier.
Highest points were achieved for "Health and Wellbeing", "Transport Accessibility " and "Efficient Water Consumption" categories.
