On September 30 – October 13, 2015 Christie’s auctioned 20 giant sculptures inspired by the DNA double helix in London. Each sculpture, a unique work of art, was designed by internationally renowned artists like Zaha Hadid, Ted Baker, Benjamin Shine, Tim Ashley, etc.
All proceeds raised from hammer prices are going towards the Francis Crick Institute, a new biomedical research centre that will explore the diseases that pose the greatest threat to humanity: cancer, heart disease, respiratory diseases, neurological diseases such as dementia and infectious diseases including HIV and malaria.
Baku White City took part at this charity auction and purchased two sculptures. These are “Double Helix Noir” by Thierry Noir and “Orange Tree” by Leyla Aliyeva.
