Baku White City continues the improvement of water supply and sewerage.
In accordance with international construction requirements, within the framework of Baku White City General Plan Azersu OJSC designed and constructed independent storm drains and domestic wastewater sewerage.
For preventing the accumulation of rainwater on the streets and avenues of White City, additional locations of storm drains are being installed. A reinforced concrete collector along Nobel Avenue made of 1000 mm pipes at the intersection of Nobel Avenue and Najafgulu Rafiyev Street will be connected to a reinforced concrete 2500x1500 mm box collector overlooking the boulevard. This ensures the separation of storm water from domestic wastewater streams.
During the development the Master Plan a special attention was paid to road slopes to ensure the flow of storm water from roads and sidewalks.
In general, in recent years, within the framework of the project, more than 20 km of pipes of various diameters have been laid, more than 1.2 km of rainwater collectors have been built to divert surface waters that cause discomfort to residents of the capital, numerous storm drains have been installed in places where surface water accumulates.
Baku White City is carried out under the Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev on the approval of the «Plan of complex measures to improve the environmental situation in Azerbaijan in 2006-2010».
