Being the major landmark of White city, the footbridge will connect the North and South of the project over the November 8th Avenue and thanks to its magnificence, the footbridge will be one of the most novel iconic spots in Baku

The footbridge has the width of 7-14 meters, and the length of 237 meters. It is intended that its upper tier will join to the 3rd floor of public hall in the south, to Fountains Square in the North, 1st Green Island street, and its lower tier will join to Zaman Square situated on the November 8th Avenue. The pedestrians will gain easy access thanks to the escalators and lifts that will be installed at the footbridge.

The construction of the footbridge is carried out by Evrascon, on the order of Azerbaijan Highways State Agency. During the design phase, local engineers worked closely with Germany’s Werner Sobek and UNStudio of the Netherlands, one of the major architectural bureaus globally known for their architectural solutions. Within the framework of Baku White City project, UNStudio carried out design of double buildings and bank building adjoining November 8th Avenue. The company authored famous infrastructure and urban planning projects in USA, the Netherlands, Austria, Taiwan, Singapore, China and other countries. At the initial stage of bridge design, the design and construction practices of the world’s most ingenious footbridges, namely Millenium bridge in London, Kehl bridge in Strasbourg and Sundial bridge in California were studied.

SEVEN PUBLIC CLOCK composition by the international artist Constantine Grcic, consisting of 7 clocks produced by the Swiss company MobaTime, and specially designed for the Baku White City project, is intended to be built in Zaman Square, located under the footbridge.

The authentic design of the bridge provides for safety of pedestrians, attractive lighting, street furniture, ample space enough for comfortable movement of pedestrians. The landscaping of the bridge will transform each crossing into a nice walk. All these features will make the footbridge one of the favorite places of Baku residents and guests.
